Nissan’s latest advertising campaign has hit new heights this week with an eye-catching stunt in London to celebrate the launch of the new Qashqai.
Passers-by can now see a model of the British-built Qashqai attached to the top of Truman Brewery’s 49-metre high chimney – a 200-year old London landmark situated in Brick Lane, Shoreditch.
The fibreglass model is one and half times the size of a normal Qashqai, measures 6.5 metres in length, 2.7 metres in width, and 2.4 metres in height – and it weighs 750kg. It took around seven weeks to make and, with the help of two cranes, was hoisted into position this week before being fixed in place.
Around 50 people were involved in the planning and activation of the stunt.
It will remain on the chimney until Sunday [September 22] and is part of Nissan’s ongoing marketing campaign – Elevate Your Urban Drive – celebrating the launch of the new Nissan Qashqai, which is manufactured in Sunderland.
A spokesperson said: “We’re very proud of this British-built model and wanted to show if off for everyone to see.
“So, we figured why not park it in a place where it can’t be missed.”
