Omoda Taupo Drives Community Support at Local Rotary Charity Golf Tournament

Ingham Great Lake, in partnership with Omoda, was proud to sponsor the recent Lake Taupo Rotary Charity Golf Tournament.

This exciting event, held at the prestigious Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary, brought together golf enthusiasts from all over for a day of fun, competition, and community support. Omoda, known for its active involvement in philanthropic and local events, is delighted to support this initiative, reflecting its ongoing commitment to community engagement and development.

As part of their dedication to community involvement and philanthropy, Ingham Great Lake and Omoda sponsored one of the holes at the tournament, offering participants the chance to win an Omoda C5 with a hole-in-one. While no one managed to claim the elusive ace, the spirit of friendly competition and community support was a hole-in-one in itself.

The feedback from participants about Omoda has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the car’s cutting-edge design, advanced technology, and robust warranty offering. Ingham Great Lake and Omoda’s presence at the event added an extra layer of excitement, encouraging golfers to aim for their best shot and engage in the charity’s noble cause.

The tournament, open to 120 players, attracted both local and visiting registrations. Lake Taupo Rotarians volunteered their time to manage the registration desk, BBQ, raffle, auction, and prize giving, ensuring the day ran smoothly and successfully.

This year’s tournament proceeds went towards supporting two commendable local charities: Anamata and Taupo Women’s Refuge.

Anamata is a Charitable Trust that has been serving the Taupō/Tūrangi District for over 30 years. The clinic’s nurses and doctor provide vital services such as contraception and family planning, mental health support and advice. The Anamata youth development team also offers counselling, health promotion, anxiety support groups, and workshops for young people and their caregivers. The organisation is dedicated to ensuring that people live free of discrimination, regardless of age, gender, sexual preference, marital status, ethnicity, religion, or ability.

Taupo Women’s Refuge is well-known for its crucial work in supporting women and children experiencing family violence. They offer a safe haven, advocacy, and a range of support services to help individuals rebuild their lives free from violence and fear.

Ingham Great Lake and Omoda extend heartfelt thanks to Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary for hosting this wonderful event and to Lake Taupo Rotary for their tireless efforts in organising a day that truly made a difference.
