Mercedes-Benz Auckland’s Classics & Collectables Open Day on Saturday, 22 March 2025, was a highlight for car enthusiasts and families alike, attracting hundreds of visitors eager to explore a stunning array of iconic vehicles. Held at the Newmarket showroom, the event was a true celebration of the brand’s rich past, innovative future and undeniable luxury.
The day buzzed with excitement as attendees explored a carefully curated collection of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Spanning decades of design and engineering, the dealership was filled with an impressive lineup of cars from the 1960s to the 1990s, alongside the latest high-performance AMG models.
Car lovers marvelled at the sleek design and elegance of legendary classics like the 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster and the 1966 230SL Pagoda. Meanwhile, speed enthusiasts couldn’t take their eyes off the 2020 AMG GT R Pro and the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series, each embodying the high-powered ethos of the AMG marque.

The collection also featured rarities, such as the 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, the 1960 190SL Roadster and the 1966 250 SE Cabriolet – each one a piece of Mercedes-Benz history.
The success of the event was further elevated by the generosity of Mercedes-Benz Auckland’s customers.
“It was great to see such a phenomenal turnout across the enthusiast community, and we’re extremely grateful to our customers for allowing us to showcase their vehicles,” says Dealer Principal Michael Collins. “The variety and quality of the vehicles on display were amazing, and the positive response from everyone who attended made it a standout occasion. It was a genuine tribute to automotive excellence.”
But it wasn’t just about the cars. The day offered something for everyone, from families to racing fans, with young and old alike appreciating the heritage and intrinsic style of Mercedes-Benz. Children enjoyed face painting, balloon animals and candy floss, while adults tested their driving skills in the Racing Simulator Challenge for a chance to win exclusive Mercedes-Benz merchandise. The vibrant atmosphere was further enhanced with the DJ playing Old School favourites, keeping the energy high throughout the day.
The Classics & Collectables Open Day was truly unforgettable—a perfect fusion of automotive passion, family fun and community spirit, all under one roof. It was an incredible opportunity to get up close with some of the world’s most exceptional cars and celebrate the legacy of Mercedes-Benz.
