Jaecoo J5 Unveiled at the 2024 Omoda Jaecoo International User Summit

International car brand Omoda Jaecoo, has announced the Jaecoo J5 at its global event, ahead of it’s successful launch of the Jaecoo J7.

Although the Jaecoo J5 is not confirmed for New Zealand just yet, they have confirmed the vehicle is set to launch in international markets by 2025. Omoda Jaecoo have also previously teased the many new and exciting vehicles under consideration for the New Zealand market. Included in this list, the brand has mentioned the Omoda C5, Omoda C7, Omoda C9, and the Jaecoo J8, along with a mix of pure internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle powertrain options.

Some of the J5’s key features* outlined at the Unveiling:

• Waterfall front grille: The iconic front grille that made the Jaecoo J7 so recognisable, will also be prominent on the J5.
• Pet-friendly features: Extended seats, pet-feeding devices and built-in boarding steps. The A/C Filtration system even blocks pet hair to keep the air fresh and clean at all times.
• 4380mm in length: The J5 isn’t quite as long as the J7, which has a length of 4500mm.
• 1.6T, 90.7kW/L, maximum torque of 183Nm/L: Available in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel-drive, the J5’s engine is shared with the J7.
• 6 Different Drive Modes: Ranging from Normal, Eco, Sports, Snow, Mud and Off-road.
• 1.42m2 Panoramic Sunroof: The glass roof offers a wide view from each corner of the vehicle.
