IONIQ 5 N wins AA DRIVEN Performance Car of 2024
2 December, 2024
The IONIQ 5 N, Hyundai’s first 100% electric sports car, has been announced as AA DRIVEN Sports/Performance Car of 2024.
The IONIQ 5 N, Hyundai’s first 100% electric sports car, has been announced as AA DRIVEN Sports/Performance Car of 2024. This accolade joins many others already announced for this revolutionary vehicle.
AA DRIVEN motoring journalist Damien O’Carroll was impressed by the IONIQ 5 N’s duplicity and ability to provide an extra level of driver engagement not normally seen on electric vehicles. ‘Want silent, docile EV cruising at urban speeds? Easy. Want feral aggression and acceleration? Yep, that’s easy too. Want full-on tail-happy lunacy, a bellowing, roaring soundtrack and neck-snappingly aggressive gearshifts? No problem… wait, what?’
The high-performance variant of the IONIQ 5 is capable of immense power of up to 478 kW whilst delivering zero driving emissions. Amongst its many party tricks is its ability to mimic an internal combustion performance car thanks to its N e-shift and N Active Sound functions.
“As well as winning Performance Car of 2024, the IONIQ 5 N was also a top three finalist for the overall AA DRIVEN Car of the Year award.
Hyundai New Zealand CEO Scott Kelsey says “Every single person that has sat behind the wheel of the IONIQ 5 N has been blown away by not only its immense performance, but also how engaging the driving experience is. We are very happy to see it continued to be recognised as a true genre disruptor.’’
This latest accolade adds to an ever-increasing list of awards that have been bestowed on the IONIQ 5 N this year, including 2024 World Performance Car, Road & Track 2024 Performance EV of the Year and Car and Driver’s 2024 EV of the Year.
The IONIQ 5 N is available now, find out more about the award-winning vehicle at our dealerships.
