New Hyundai Santa Fe
The safest and most powerful yet.
Hyundai’s redesigned fourth-generation Santa Fe has landed on our shores and arrives in dealer showrooms this week. Including Ingham Hyundai Hamilton.
Developed to offer a premium experience while meeting the complete needs of an entire family, the latest Santa Fe goes beyond a mere facelift. A fresh look and feel along with new features can be seen from all sides of the car as well as the interior.
“New Zealand’s favourite family SUV, the Santa Fe just got better,” says Hyundai New Zealand General Manager, Andy Sinclair.
“What better way to celebrate 20 years of the Santa Fe than with the safest and most powerful model yet. The new Santa Fe is packed full of ultra-modern features to help keep you and your loved ones safe on and off the road. It also boasts improved powertrains with better fuel economy, power, and overall performance.”
The family-oriented SUV comes with a vast array of options and features, with petrol and diesel powertrains, safety and convenience technologies, and colour options. Hybrid and PHEV options will also be available in 2021.
The new Santa Fe is perfect for an active lifestyle. With the increase in tow rating capability to 2,500kg* the sky’s the limit when it comes to boating, camping, moving, exploring.
The redesigned fourth-generation Santa Fe sits on Hyundai’s latest SUV platform. The change is most noticeable in the interior space where more legroom and cargo area provide a premium seating experience while meeting the storage needs of an entire family.
Under the hood, Hyundai is offering three powerful yet fuel efficient options:
- 2.2L ‘R-Series’ Diesel AWD – 148 kW power, 440 Nm torque, 8-DCT ‘wet clutch’ transmission with 6.1l / 100km combined fuel efficiency
- 2.5L ‘Theta III’ Petrol AWD – 132 kW power, 232 Nm torque, 6-speed automatic transmission with 8.7l/ 100km combined fuel efficiency
- 3.5L ‘Lambda II’ Petrol 2WD – 200 kW power, 331 Nm torque, 8-speed automatic transmission with 10.5l/ 100km combined fuel efficiency
For the new Santa Fe, Hyundai has worked to reduce the weight of the powertrain and the friction of its moving parts, resulting in improved fuel economy and more satisfying driving performance. Through countless road tests, Hyundai engineers also reduced noise and vibrations for a more serene cabin environment. The new Santa Fe also offers improved stopping ability due to bigger brake discs.
Rated 5-stars by both Euro NCAP and US NCAP, the new Santa Fe includes a full complement of Hyundai SmartSense™ safety technology. The following safety enhancements are standard across the range:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance (FCA) with Junction Assist (JX) for additional safety at intersections
- Lane Following Assist (LFA)
- Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance assist (PCA) – Limited 3.5L & 2.2L models only
- Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM) – Limited model only
- Safe Exit Assist (SEA) & Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) now standard across range
It is also easier than ever to park the new Santa Fe as it comes available with a Surround View Monitor (SVM), Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA) and Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) for selected models.
All of these safety and convenience features can be adjusted using the optional 10.25inch AVN (audio, video, navigation) touchscreen display, which also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other convenience features include the wireless charging pad that supports up to 15W.
Mr. Sinclair adds, “The Santa Fe is one of the most capable SUVs on the market, which is reflected in it being the number one selling large SUV for the last two years. We are confident that will long continue with the introduction of this new model.”
The SUV will be available in eight different exterior colours: Phantom Black, White Cream, Typhoon Silver, Magnetic Force, Rain Forest, Lava Orange, Glacier White, Taiga Brown and Lagoon Blue. It comes with a black interior, however a dark beige leather interior option is available for special order on Elite and Limited models.
Pricing starts from $62,990 for the entry level 2.5L Petrol AWD to $89,990 for the top spec 2.2L (Limited) Diesel AWD.
*2.5 petrol models have a 2,000 kg braked towing capacity.
