VAN.EA Erlkönig VAN.EA prototype

Electric Prototype ready to go.

Mercedes-Benz Vans has made a significant leap in its electrification journey with the introduction of the first prototypes based on its new modular VAN.EA platform (Van Electric Architecture).

By 2026, all newly developed medium and large vans will use this flexible, scalable electric architecture. VAN.EA enables Mercedes-Benz to cater to a wide range of customers, from luxurious family vans to high-end commercial vehicles.

Key features include advanced technology integration, such as the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), 800V charging, and both front-wheel and 4×4 drive options. Following successful testing, including a long-distance trip to the North Cape, further tests will take place in Sweden this winter.

This marks a crucial step towards fully reinventing the van, reinforcing Mercedes-Benz’s leadership in electric mobility and sustainable vehicle production
